From Cali to Texas
"Between 2007 and 2016 a net 1m American residents, or 2.5% of the state’s population, left California for another state. Texas was the most popular destination, attracting more than a quarter of them." - The Economist
We recently finished a project for a wonderful young family who relocated to Texas from California. We have added some images here for you to see their new home. We have seen a lot of movement from California over the past few years. In a previous post we discussed our top ten reasons for moving to Dallas in particular but Austin, Houston, and San Antonio continue to grow also. To be clear this isn't a TX vs CA post! We love California actually; wine, technology, food, and films.... not to mention the weather! But Texas currently has an allure.
There were 1,051 moves from coastal California, the home of some of the country's toughest housing markets, to Dallas in the first quarter of 2017, according to Alexandra Lee
We caught up with these new homeowners and they gave the following as major pull factors for the lone star state; No State Tax, the central location for travel around the US, lower cost of living and the local Westlake, Southlake and Colleyville school zones. These were their main reasons but others included the safety of the area and the infrastructure. Their number one reason though.... to be closer to family. Can't argue with that one.
The lower cost of building means that customers can far more easily realize their dream home. This was exactly the case for this family. We have a select few pictures from their home below..... enjoy!
